The estate for Michael Jackson has settled a lawsuit with the pop legend’s former manager, putting an end to a legal battle that been going on for seven years.
The estate was sued back in 2012 by Tohme Tohme, who had served for many years as Jackson’s manager but was let go before the pop star died.
Tohme had argued that he was entitled to a 15-percent cut of anything Jackson made in the last year of his life, plus a cut of revenues from “This Is It.”
The estate confirmed the settlement in a statement, saying, “The Estate of Michael Jackson and Jackson’s former manager, Tohme Tohme, confirm that they have amicably settled a lawsuit that had been underway in the Santa Monica Superior court. The Estate acknowledges his efforts on Michael’s behalf. The confidential settlement marks a resolution to an almost decade-long contractual dispute.”
