Rapper Ice Cube is reuniting members of his iconic gangsta rap group N.W.A for a show at L.A.'s Staples Center later this month.
"It's just gonna be a great night," Ice Cube told Rolling Stone. "It's just gonna be one of those 'I wish I were there in L.A. nights.' "
Cube told the magazine that he, DJ Yell and MC Ren would all share the same stage for the first time since 1989 at the BET Experience gig on June 27.
Fellow founding member Dr. Dre, though, was likely to be a no-show.
"You know, if you wish upon a star, you never know. You never know," the 45-year-old rappers told Rolling Stone.
"I hope he blesses us with his presence. But if not, I've been rocking for a long time without anybody. So whoever shows up, I'm still gonna rock."
Comedian Kevin Hart, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg are also on the bill for the three-day event.
The group's reunion comes ahead of the release of the N.W.A biopic "Straight Outta Compton," which tracks the group's rise to fame and break-up in the wake of Eric "Eazy-E" Wright's death in 1995.
O'Shea Jackson Jr., Ice Cube's son, plays his dad as a young man in the flick. It hits theaters on Aug. 14.
