According to reports, the Philly rapper is being sued for allegedly stealing lyrics from a songwriter that was contracted by a Philadelphia-based boutique label, Dream Rich Entertainment. The label is accusing Meek, Dream Chasers, and Atlantic Records of “civil conspiracy to commit copyright infringement,” HNHH reports. The label says that Meek Mill didn’t give proper credit on the songs “100 Summers,” and “Cold Hearted II” off his 2018 Grammy-nominated album Championships, and “passed the songs off as his own.”
Meek reportedly had access to the songwriter’s file, and Dream Rich believes that’s when Meek allegedly “helped himself” to the lyrics. Dream Rich is seeking over $300,000 in damages.
As of now, Meek Mill or his team hasn’t addressed the situation publicly. Meek, however, did post the following tweet about Akademiks' Twitch Ban ....
