Inside Master P's Domain: Wife's Divorce Docs Raise Curtain on Lavish Lifestyle

Master P had hit records. Master P had a hugely successful label. Master P made lots of money. Now, his estranged wife wants to cash out, and she's laying out just how expansive his empire is.
Sonya Miller, who filed for divorce from hip-hop mogul Percy "Master P" Miller in October, is seeking 37 percent of the rap star's estimated $178 million in assets, businesses and cash, according to court documents obtained by Yahoo.

In a filing last week, Sonya listed their valuable possessions, including 31 real estate properties, 13 cars, 45 companies, as well as furniture and jewelry.

The businesses — No Limit Records; Master P, Inc.; No Limit Forever, LLC; etc. — are pegged at $136 million.

Residences in such cities as Los Angeles, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Houston have a combined value of $19 million. Homes in Los Angeles and the suburb of Arcadia, Calif., are worth $6.6 and $3.3 million, respectively, the document estimates.

The 13 cars are valued at $235,500, and include three Cadillac Escalades, two Mercedes, a Rolls-Royce, BMW, Porsche, Lexus, Bentley, and Jaguar.

The couple apparently did not have a prenuptial agreement in place; likely due to the fact that their long relationship pre-dated Master P's explosive success.

Master P and his representatives did not immediately repsond to requests for comment. But his son Romeo was critical of his mother raising the curtain on the family fortunes.
"Honestly, I love my mom to death but we have to work out some things," he told TMZ. "She got to be a better parent. If she was a better parent she could get everything. She get everything regardless. But it's like she got to be a better parent."

In December, Master P released his first album in eight years, "The Gift," that featured his children Romeo and Cymphonique, as well as platinum-selling rap stars Rick Ross and The Game.

In 1990, he opened No Limit Records & Tapes in Richmond, Calif., with a $10,000 malpractice insurance settlement he received after his grandfather's death. Master P and Sonya, who have been married for 24 years, temporarily lived in a storage facility on site with Romeo.

The entertainer eventually began to sell his own music, and in 1995 struck a distribution deal with Priority Records. The deal stipulated that he owned his master recordings and studio. No Limit Records went on to release dozens of successful albums from artists that included Silkk the Shocker, C-Murder, Mia X, Snoop Dogg, and Lil Romeo. Master P and his roster have reportedly sold $80 million worth of records.
In an interview with VladTV, Master P explained how he was able to negotiate his distribution deals. "I think people think you couldn't do that, but when you put your own marketing and promotion money up you can control your rights," he said.

Over the years, he broadened his empire. He played professional basketball for the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors, ran a sports-management company, had a shoe deal with Converse, released a series of straight-to-DVD movies, and even secured Nickelodeon TV shows for two of his children. Romeo stared in a self-titled sitcom in 2005, and Cymponique was the lead character in "How to Rock" in 2012.

Master P also wrote the book "Guaranteed Success: When You Never Give Up," in which championed good old-fashioned hard work as an avenue to riches; and detailed the various odd jobs he took as a child, including mowing lawns, carrying groceries, and helping out elderly neighbors.

One thing he apparently missed: getting an iron-clad prenup.
