Mary J. Blige Releases Post Divorce Single Called "Thick Of It"

Mary J. Blige marriage might have been goin' down long before she called it quits.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has released her first single, "Thick of It," since announcing her divorce from husband, Kendu Isaacs and true to Blige's candid form the lyrics are very telling.

"I ain't no quitter babe," she sings. "And I be damned if all these years I let you diss me, babe."

She continues, "Who’s gonna love you like I do, Who will you trust, I gave you too much, Enough is enough."

In a press release Blige, 45, said the track is very "personal."

"It's almost painful to let out," she admitted. "I don't hold back, though. It's not who I am and there's now way I am going to start changing now. We all deal with love and the emotions that we get tangled up in, and we gotta survive, grow and remain honest to our best selves."

Blige filed for divorce from Isaacs, who was also her manager, in July.

He is seeking spousal support TMZ first reported. It's unclear if the couple had a prenup.

In the past, Blige sang a different tune and credited her marriage for helping her quit alcohol and drugs.

"After I met him, everything changed in my life," she told Parade magazine in 2007. "He was the first person to ever challenge what I did. 'Why are you drinking? Why do you hate yourself? You don't need to be around people who tear you down. You're beautiful, Mary.'"
