Stars showed up at the opening celebration of the Mardan Palace Hotel in Antalya, Turkey on Saturday - for a price.
Richard Gere, Sharon Stone, Mariah Carey, Tom Jones, Seal and others turned out to celebrate the opening of the 560-room five-star resort on the Mediterranean. The NY Post reports that Mariah was paid $1.5 million for her appearance, which included a short performance Saturday night. No word how much the others got paid.
The Daily Mail reports that the place is billed as 'hailing a return to the opulent, golden age of the Ottoman Empire' and was developed by Telman Ismailov, Chairman of Russia's biggest property developer AST.
In addition to 560 rooms, it has two Royal Suites with private pools - priced at 14,000 euros a night. It also has the Med's largest swimming pool, five aquariums, a spa, 17 bars and 10 restaurants.
