Mariah Carey Engaged To Billionaire Boyfriend James Packer

Mariah Carey is starting the year on a high note!

The pop star and her billionaire boyfriend James Packer got engaged Thursday night in New York City, her rep confirmed to the Daily News.

Packer, 48, proposed to the “Dreamlover” singer in front of her closest friends at a private dinner at New York’s Eleven Madison Park, TMZ reports.

The Aussie businessman presented Carey, 45, with a massive engagement ring described to be at around 35 carats, according to E! News.

Following the engagement, the happy pair were spotted leaving the restaurant hand in hand, with Carey proudly showed off her stunning bling.

The couple were first spotted together in June when they vacationed together in Portofino, Italy. Carey and Packer went public with their romance at a New York movie premiere three months later.

The pop diva’s new fiancé is a star in his own right: Packer is an entertainment mogul and the fourth wealthiest person in Australia, with an estimated wealth of $4.7 billion, according to Forbes.

Both have been married twice before, with the singer previously wed to music exec Tommy Mottola and Nick Cannon.

Carey and the “America’s Got Talent” host split up in Jan. 2015, and have two children together: Moroccan and Monroe, 4.
