Mariah Carey Denies Owing Any Money To Former Nanny

You'll get nothing and like it!

Mariah Carey says she doesn't owe a penny to the nanny who's suing her for forcing her to work 100 hour weeks with no overtime.

Simonette DaCosta said she worked for Carey and her now estranged hubby Nick Cannon from October of 2013 to February of 2014.

"Plaintiff was on duty during all hours of each 24-hour day with no entitlement for breaks, for meals, and even for sleep. Indeed, Ms. Carey would often call plaintiff at hours in the middle of the night and demand to be taken to her children or to be updated on the status of her children," said her suit, which was filed earlier this year.

In papers filed this week in Manhattan Federal Court, lawyers for Carey and Cannon acknowledge DaCosta worked long hours, but maintain they paid her everything they were supposed to, and that the suit should be tossed.
If DaCosta wasn't paid everything she was entitled to, the stars say, it's because of "her failure to inform her supervisors of all time worked."

As for DaCosta's claim that Carey canned her because her kids were too fond of her, the filing by the lawyers for the power pair dances around the allegation. It says they "lack information or knowledge sufficient" to answer the charge.

DaCosta's lawyer did not return a call for comment.

Carey and Cannon's filing, which was first reported by the entertainment blog thejasminebrand.com, comes one week after Carey settled a lawsuit brought by another staffer who'd charged the diva had stiffed her on OT for her 10 to 16 hour a day work weeks. The terms of the deal were confidential.
