MAN ONLY GETS 19 YEARS IN JAIL FOR KILLING HIS 2 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER & THROWING HER IN THE TRASH COMPACTOR!

A killer who beat his 2-month-old daughter to death and threw her body into a trash compactor in the Bronx was sentenced Thursday to 19 years in prison.

Juan Rodriguez, 35, avoided a life sentence by cutting a deal with prosecutors and pleading guilty to manslaughter.

"His own daughter's life meant nothing to him," said Eddie Rosario, Rodriguez's uncle. "I had to carry her tiny casket. Nothing will bring her back."

Rodriguez of Hempstead, L.I., fatally smashed Giovanna Marie Rodriguez's head against her crib in Jan. 2007 because she wouldn't stop crying, prosecutors said.

With the help of Giovanna's mother, Maribel Caceres, Rodriguez drove to the Mitchell Houses in Mott Haven and tossed the body down the trash chute.

Caceres, who held the chute door open for Rodriguez, was sentenced to six months in prison in 2007.

Rosario, 48, said his nephew has never shown remorse.

"Even when he had a chance to say 'sorry' in court, he didn't," said Rosario. "Now he has 19 years to think about the horrible thing he did."
