MAN FIGHTS OFF A GREAT WHITE ATTACK WITH HIS OAR & GETS 2 SHARK TEETH AS A SOUVENIR!

He's going to need a bigger boat.
A volunteer lifeguard was attacked while paddling in a rowboat close to a popular Australian beach Saturday by a great white shark that may have mistaken his oar for a seal, several Australian news outlets reported.

The young shark, estimated to be 7-10 feet long, was so intent on devouring the oar that it left behind two of its teeth embedded in the wood.

"Its head was pointing towards the sky and you could see its eyes and its gob open with these big red lips wrapped around the oar," Greg Ross told Australia's Herald Sun.

"It was there for a good minute before it must have thought it didn't taste too good and then it turned around and was gone."

Great white shark sightings are increasingly common near the popular Hawks Nest Beach in the New South Wales state of Australia, with dozens of their dorsal fins visible in the area each week, London's Daily Mail reported.

Ross told the Australian Associated Press that his close encounter was no big deal, however, and that he was back paddling in the same waters later that day.
