A Northern Irish man has been banned from boozing after he called cops claiming he was rapper Nicki Minaj and said he'd seen a ghost.
Steven Brown was outlawed from consuming or even possessing alcohol after he made a series of nuisance calls to emergency services on Christmas Day, reports the Irish Times.
The 23-year-old first drunkenly dialed 999 at 10:15 a.m. to allege that two men were threatening to kill him.
But he was too intoxicated to provide any more details.
He called back five minutes later to ask to cancel his first call — and then claimed he was the 32-year-old hip hop star and had a poltergeist in his Crumlin, County Antrim home.
Police arrived at his house and he was arrested for breach of a previous court order which banned him from using the emergency number.
Brown appeared at Belfast High Court on Friday, where prosecutors claimed he was an alcoholic.
"This man is, essentially, a nuisance, which no doubt is a product of his alcoholism. Police have better things to do that cope with these telephone calls," said Lord Justice Coghlin.
Brown was released on bail of $400 bail and was banned from touching, possessing or consuming booze.
He is also prohibited from dialing 999, except in an emergency, and has a home curfew between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
