Madonna To Honor Prince With Billboard Music Awards Live Tribute

The Queen of Pop is set to honor Prince.

Madonna will pay tribute to the "Purple Rain" musician with a live appearance at the Billboard Music Awards on May 22, show producers said Wednesday.

Details of the Material Girl's exact plans for the musical tribute were not immediately revealed.

Madge and Prince dated briefly in the mid 1980s and sang together on "Love Song," a track from her classic 1989 album "Like a Prayer."

They later parted ways and made snarky remarks about each other before rekindling their friendship over the last decade.

Madonna attended Prince's sold-out show at Madison Square Garden in 2011 as well as a private concert at his Minnesota estate last year.

"He Changed The World!! A True Visionary. What a loss. I'm devastated," Madonna wrote in an Instagram post after Prince's shocking April 21 death.

The post included a throwback photo of the pair wearing matching yellow jackets.

The upcoming Billboard Awards will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and broadcast live on ABC.

Ludacris and Ciara have been tapped to host after Ludacris hosted with Chrissy Teigen last year.

The nominees for top artist are Adele, Justin Bieber, Drake, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.

Taylor Swift was the big winner at last year's show, taking home six awards including Top Artist.

Prince died unexpectedly at his Paisley Park compound at age 57.

The cause of death has not yet been released, but DEA investigators are probing the singer's history with prescription painkillers.

Prince received the icon award at the 2013 Billboard Awards.
