Machine Gun Kelly Reveals He Turned Down Potential ‘Sinners’ Role Over Using N-Word

MGK while recently visiting The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday (July 31), he revealed he turned down an audition for the hit film Sinners after learning that the role required him to say the N-word. The role, which would’ve cast him as a villain, included a line that MGK says he simply wasn’t willing to say. “Sinners… I was supposed to be in that,” he shared, reflecting on the number of films he’s had to pass on. Speaking of what the auditions were like, he added, “He says the N-word, and I just wouldn’t do it.” In a moment of solidarity, the show’s Black co-host proudly reached over to give him a fist bump. Sinners went on to see historic success at the box office with the Michael B. Jordan-starring film raking in a whopping $61,000,000 globally and $45,000,000 domestically upon its April 18 release. The 1930’s cinematic masterpiece is about two slick twins, Smoke and Stack, who travel back home to the deep Mississippi Delta south to open a Juke Joint, with stolen money. As they create a space for Black folks to frolic and hear down-home Blues, descendant vampires viscously attempt to intrude and recruit as many guests they can to the immortal side.
