Rapper Lupe Fiasco was a hero to two young soccer fans at the first-ever American benefit for the FC Barcelona Foundation at the Rainbow Room on Saturday.
Fiasco performed at the event for the Spanish soccer squad, and during his half-hour set, he made sure soccer star Neymar Jr. got up and danced, a spy said.
Later, when the rapper chatted with two 8-year-old fans at the bash, “he asked the boys if they got any autographs.”
When the kids said no, Fiasco “pointed to [Barcelona player] Lionel Messi and joked, ‘You’re going to tell me you’re going to let these two boys . . . go home without autographs?!’ ”
The source added, “That brought results.”
The foundation promotes education and sports for kids.
