Ludacris' longtime manager Chaka Zulu addressing a report claiming the rapper pulled out of Kid Rock's Rock the Country festival due to backlash. After Laura Stylez brought up Luda's reported exit from the festival on the latest episode of The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, Darden emphatically responded, "That's the wrong headline, by the way. That's not what happened." Ebro explained Zulu sent him a message in the hopes that he would share the rapper's side of the story. "I spoke to Chaka Zulu, a good friend of mine, who text me after the show, and was basically, like, sent me the flyer, and said, 'We were never on this show. They tried to book us, and jumped the gun." A rep for Ludacris previously said that there was a "mix-up" which led to the rapper being included on the flyer for the festival. "Lines got crossed and he wasn't supposed to be on there," his rep said."I personally think it's a hit job, and would appreciate you getting this out for me," Darden said, reading Zulu's text. "So, he never pulled out because he never agreed," Stylez responded, to which Ebro added, "He was never on the show." Peter Rosenberg suspects Luda was mulling over an offer to perform at the Rock the Country festival when promoters assumed the rapper would accept and added his name to the flyer.
