This bullfighter was nothing but a chicken.

A Mexican matador scared to death as he stared down a charging bull, made a frightened leap over the wall to safety.

Christian Hernandez, the 22-year-old terrified toreador, didn’t make excuses.

"There are some things you must be aware of about yourself," he said. "I didn't have the ability, I didn't have the balls, this is not my thing."

Decked out in a glittery gold and pink skintight costume, Hernandez, who had previously been gored in the leg month back, waved his cape, then froze briefly before dashing to safety.

He returned to the ring as fans mocked him, then left again, for good.

To make matters worse, he was arrested for breaking his contract, though he paid a fine and was released.

Hernandez later announced his retirement.
