IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

We've got ourselves a situation here.
In preparation for the "Jersey Shore"-centric episode of "When I Was 17," MTV has released a family photo of "Jersey Shore" star Mike (The Situation) Sorrentino and his siblings, all decked out in turtlenecks and goofy smiles amidst a cheesy blue backdrop.

Clearly, it's a far cry from the reality star's motto, "GTL" (gym, tan, laundry), and the music network's fans are having quite the laugh at The Sitch's expense.

"Haha! This is too funny," one fan commented on the site. "I can't believe he would let this picture get posted on MTV. It's too funny but its [sic] cool. GO MIKE!"

Another was a bit more incredulous about The Situation's portfolio. "WHO TOOK THESE PHOTOS???," another fan, Laurie, posted. "Why did people pose for these, keep them around, or even share them with the Internet? Props. I saved one to my computer. I am going to make it better."

Ironically enough, the photos come on the heels of a reported incident on the "Shore" set where producers had to tell The Situation to keep his ego in check during filming. Executive producer SallyAnn Salsano allegedly hollered off camera to "tell Mike to stop drinking his own Kool-Aid!"

"When I Was 17" is MTV's hit documentary series that looks at celebrities' lives as teenagers, with retrospectives by the stars themselves. Subjects have included hip-hop prodcer/N.E.R.D. frontman Pharrell Williams, Donald Trump, and Kevin Jonas. Nicole (Snooki) Polizzi, another "Jersey Shore" breakout star, has also appeared on the show.

MTV offered a sneak peek of the Situation episode earlier this week, where the star described an elaborate senior year prank: he let a bunch of mice loose in his high school cafeteria. "People were screaming," he told the network. "There was mices everywhere. It was insane. Mayhem!"

The "Jersey Shore" episode of "When I Was 17" airs Saturday at 11 am. The episode will also feature Jenni (J-Woww) Farley and Paul (Pauly D) DelVecchio.
