Shaquille O'Neal, orchestra conductor?
It's not as far-fetched as it sounds.
The basketball superstar, 38, conducted the Boston Pops and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus during a holiday concert Monday at Boston's Symphony Hall.
Dressed in a tuxedo (with coat tails!), O'Neal walked on stage to loud cheers and, with a baton in hand, bobbed his head while leading the groups in the winter classic, "Sleigh Ride."
The Boston Celtics player also led a rendition of "We are the Champions," after which some audience members stood and applauded.
According to People.com, O'Neal's 7-foot-1-inch frame made him the tallest conductor in the orchestra's 125 years.
"I have a whole new respect for conductors," he told the site before performing. "I went through a rehearsal today, and my arms are shot right now."
Though it was O'Neal's conducting debut, it wasn't his first foray into music. He's released several rap albums.
