LOL! NEW iPHONE APP TELLS NEW YORKERS WHERE TO FIND FREE CONDOMS!

Finding a free condom in the Big Apple is now a click away.

The city Health Department is unveiling a free iPhone application on Monday - Valentine's Day - that allows New Yorkers to input an address and find five nearby places to grab a free condom.

"We are trying to reach everyone having sex," said Monica Sweeney, the agency's point person for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control. "The younger generation uses their iPhone and we want to make it convenient for them to access condoms."

Since Valentine's Day often inspires couples to get frisky, it was a fitting launch date, officials said. "A lot of people's minds turn to matters of the heart on Valentine's Day and matters of the heart often lead to matters of the body, so we think a lot of people use them that day," Sweeney said.

New Yorkers can also download the application on the Android or go to www.nyc.gov/health and type in their zip code to find locations with free NYC Condoms. They're available at many community centers, health clinics, neighborhood stores - even tattoo parlors and barber shops. With the aid of GPS, the app will give walking, driving and subway directions to the site.

The city gave away more than 36 million free NYC Condoms last year and is prepared to hand out "as many as people need" this year, Sweeney said.

New York teens are more likely to use condoms than their counterparts across the country, Sweeney said. But "as long as there are people getting STDs, unwanted pregnancies and HIV there aren't enough" people using them, she added.
