According to an eagle-eyed NBA source, Hova has been seen on a number of occasions at various arenas covering his mouth while palavering courtside with players and other VIPs.

It happened most recently after the Miami Heat beat the New Jersey Nets at the Prudential Center Monday night. After the final buzzer, LeBron James sought out Jay, and the close friends had in a quick chat while shielding their mouths. Jigga used his hand while James, still a sweaty mess, used his jersey.

That wasn’t the only bit of cloak-and-dagger involved in their encounter. On Wednesday, Deadspin.com put up video footage of a “secret handshake” the two used to greet each other. Maybe it’s time for Jay-Z to invest in a Cone of Silence and a shoe phone.
