A bicyclist pedaling through South Africa became the victim of a bizarre hit-and-run involving a prancing antelope - and it was captured on video.
Evan van der Spuy, a member of Team Jeep, was speeding along the open path as part of the Time Freight MTB Express Mountain race outside Pietermaritzburg when the accident occurred.
Behind him was teammate Travis Walker, who had a GoPro camera strapped to his mountain bike.
As the video posted to YouTube shows, Van der Spuy can be seen pointing and looking to his right. A moment later, the Red Hartebeest bounds into the frame.
The animal then leaps into the air, colliding with the 17-year-old bicyclist.
"Whoa!" Walker can be heard yelling. "Holy cow!"
The two crash to the ground, and the antelope stumbles up and runs off.
"I saw it coming closer so I braked, thought it would go in between the gap," Walker told ABC News. "It hit him, lifted him off the ground, landed in the grass … he started making weird noises and I didn't know what to do."
Van der Spuy can be heard groaning in the video, his helmet broken but still attached to his head.
The teen suffered a minor concussion and whiplash, according to ABC News.
"It was freaky," Walker said.
Do you hear him after though? I didn't know if that was him or the f**king Antelope! That sh!t was too funny!
