IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

Jay-Z doesn't just run this town — he runs the whole metropolitan area, based on crowd reaction at Saturday’s “Watch the Throne” concert with Kanye West at East Rutherford, N.J.’s Izod Center Saturday.
A couple of observant concertgoers noticed that before the pair performed “N—s in Paris” from their joint album three consecutive times for an encore, the Izod crowd began chanting Jay-Z’s nickname, “Ho-va!,” as both artists stood on stage.

Although our sources say Kanye didn’t look particularly “miffed” that his collaborator was getting the lion’s share of adulation, they said Jay-Z took it upon himself to start chanting “Kanye” on the mic. His effort to even the score proved futile, however. The crowd didn’t follow suit and a few boos were even heard in response. That’s what happens when you mess with Taylor Swift.
