Jenelle Evans and Amber Portwood were willing participants when they signed up with MTV's "Teen Mom" but – surprise, surprise – they don't seem too happy with the network these days.
Both reality stars – Portwood appeared on "16 & Pregnant" and "Teen Mom" while Evans was on "16 & Pregnant" and "Teen Mom 2" – have found themselves in legal trouble since their personal lives aired on cable television.
Portwood is facing charges of felony and misdemeanor battery, as well as felony neglect of a dependent, after an altercation with her daughter's father was captured by MTV's cameras, while Evans was recently charged with assault for a videotaped brawl with a frenemy.
Both stars have also struggled to raise their children in and out of the spotlight while having difficult relationships with their boyfriends and family members.
But Evans, it seems, places the blame on MTV.
"crying my eyes out wishing I never even moved here," she tweeted Monday, "thanks MTV."
Portwood's brother, meanwhile, has accused the network of giving a mixed message to teens.
"MTV plays 'Teen Mom' to help promote abstinence and prevent teens from getting pregnant," Shawn Portwood told E! News. "But at the same time, they play a disgusting show known as 'Jersey Shore,' which promotes unsafe sex and drinking."
"How is it possible to air two totally different shows and feel like they are making a difference in the world?" he asked.
"Plus," he added, "they say teen pregnancy has gone down, yet they are airing [another season of] '16 and Pregnant.'"
Perhaps Portwood and Evans are disproving one of the celebrity world's biggest rules: not all press is good press.
LMAO! ARE THEY SERIOUS? BLAME MTV FOR YOUR PROBLEMS? SMDH! YOUR LIFE WAS ALREADY F**KED UP! MTV JUST GAVE YOU SOME MONEY SO WE COULD WATCH IT! LOL!
