A QUEENS man brought a butter knife to a sword fight — and almost had two fewer fingers to show for it.
Adalberto Caceres, 52, of Glendale, got into an alcohol-fueled squabble with his brother and mother at the brother’s Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment Monday night, police sources said.
When things got heated, Adalberto waved the butter knife at his mother and shoved her to the floor, the sources said. That sparked a violent clash with his brother, Jose Caceres, 50.
Adalberto lunged at his brother with the butter knife, but Jose came prepared — he sliced at Adalberto with a “samurai-type sword,” a police source said.
Two fingers on Adalberto’s left hand were nearly lopped off, the sources said. Doctors at Bellevue Hospital saved his digits, police said.
The brothers were both charged with menacing, harassment and weapons possession. Jose got a rap for assault, Adalberto for attempted assault.
