LL Cool J Says Drake Beefing With Kendrick Lamar Was A “Bad Choice”

The beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar may be over, but the opinions won’t stop coming in any time soon. LL Cool J was the latest to speak on the heavyweight bout, saying the Toronto superstar engaging with K Dot was a “bad choice. The 56-year-old rapper spoke with Hot 97’s TT Torrez and aligned with the general consensus on who took the victory. “Kendrick won the battle. I mean, come on. That’s obvious. That’s a no-brainer,” he asserted. “And listen, I like Drake. I love his music, he’s a cool dude. We don’t know each other but I like his music. I’m happy for him and everything.” Despite his respect for Drizzy, he believes that he may not have known what he was getting himself into with the Compton rapper. “But, you know, Kendrick… that might have been a bad choice.” Outside of the loss, he believed the feud did a lot for Hip-Hop.“ I respect both of them,” LL Cool J said. “It was great for Hip Hop culture, don’t get it twisted. Both of their names will be etched in history because of it. Even us just talking about it now is etching it into history. He shared some encouraging words with the For All The Dogs artist. “He did his thing, he showed up and I think his fans can feel comfortable with that,” the NCIS actor said. “The key to that stuff is as long as it doesn’t distract you from your ultimate goal, it’s a wonderful thing to participate in. I love it.”
