A three-year-old girl came face-to-face with a hungry lion in New Zealand's Wellington Zoo and lived to tell the tale.
The encounter, which was captured in a video uploaded to YouTube, took place last Wednesday morning right as Malik the lion was eating breakfast, according to the New Zealand Herald.
Sofia Walker is seen pressing her face against the thick glass of Malik's enclosure as the lion stares her down from the other side.
With lightning speed, the king of the jungle violently paws the glass, but little Sofia barely blinks.
"What's he telling me?" she asks in the video.
"I think he's telling you to move away, Sofia," her mother, Sharon, replies. "He wants to eat his food."
"[Malik] just felt that my daughter was trying to take his food so that's why he reacted that way,” Sofia’s father, Scott, told The Dominion Post. "She wasn't scared. She's a very strong and adventurous character."
That lion was like if this glass wasn't here you would be done!
