Lil Wayne Wears Ugg Boots On Stage

Lil Wayne has been wearing Uggs since their first surge of popularity in the early aughts.

Though the rapper, 36, has never given up his favorite cozy boots, he’s taking his obsession to the next level with a new pair of over-the-top Uggs. On Thursday night, Lil Wayne wore an $800 pair of boots by Y/Project on stage at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

It must have been cold on stage because Wayne’s boots were layered three times over with exaggerated folds; he also wore a matching shearling aviator hat. The rapper walked on stage with a fuzzy beige coat over a blue sweatshirt and zebra-printed pants.

The brand behind the design, Y/Project, is a Parisian-based company that worked with Ugg to also create oversized thigh-high boots seen on the likes of Rihanna.

It seems that the season of throwback fashion — including low-rise jeans and Juicy tracksuits — is far from over.
