Lil Wayne Says Black Lives Matter "Ain't Got Nothing To Do With Me"

Apparently Black Lives Matter doesn't strike a chord with Lil Wayne.

The outspoken hip-hop star, who is African-American, distanced himself from the widespread movement by declaring that the anti-racism and social justice campaign has nothing to do with him whatsoever.

"I don't feel connected to a damn thing that ain't got nothing to do with me," the rapper, 33, told journalist Linsey Davis on ABC's "Nightline" on Tuesday.

He also deemed that the wave of horrific police shootings of African-Americans shouldn’t be grouped together and given a label like Black Lives Matter, before seeming to suggest he's not affected by the movement given his personal status as a celebrity.

"I am a young, black, rich motherf---er," he said. "If that don't let you know that America understand black motherf---ers matter these days, I don't know what it is."

"That man white," he continued, pointing at the cameraman. "He filming me."

The "Lollipop" artist grew visibly more irritated as the interview wore on, at one point throwing his hands up in the air and briefly breaking eye contact with Davis.

"I don't know what you mean, man," he said. "Don't come at me with that ... ma'am. My life matter."

He eventually ditched the interview, proclaiming he's not a "politician" as he walked off set, according to The Guardian.

The explosive interview aired less than two months after Wayne explained during an appearance on Fox Sports 1's "Undisputed" that he didn't believe racism existed after he performed in front of a predominantly white audience in Westchester.

"I thought that was clearly a message that there was no such thing as racism," Wayne told hosts Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. "That's what I thought that was. That was a perfect example."

In the same conversation, the rapper chose not to delve into San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's politically charged protest of the national anthem, saying he respected the NFL star but didn't know enough about the situation to assess it.
