Just in time for the holiday weekend, Lil Wayne dropped his new mixtape “FWA” — previously known as “Free Weezy Album” — on Jay Z’s troubled music streaming service Tidal at midnight Saturday.
The 15-song mixtape comes almost five months to the day the New Orleans rapper first teased it on Twitter.
"The Free Weezy Album...komin soon#FWA," he tweeted in February.
Weezy announced last month that he became one of several celeb co-owners of Tidal, the paid streaming service owned by Jay Z that has struggled to find masses of paying subscribers.
Lil Wayne tweeted in February this would be a "Free album," but through Tidal, it's technically only free to users who sign up for a month-long trial.
Weezy released another mixtape, "Sorry 4 the Wait 2," in January. The release of his next studio album, "Tha Carter 5," has been tied up thanks to legal troubles with Cash Money, his former label.
