LIL WAYNE PREMIERES "NIGHTMARES FROM THE BOTTOM" ON MTV'S UNPLUGGED!

Lil Wayne taped his episode of MTV's 'Unplugged' on Thursday (May 12) and squeezed in a new song during his set. Titled 'Nightmares of the Bottom,' the song appeared online in the form of a freestyle a year ago and will now be included on his hotly anticipated album, 'Tha Carter IV.'
The 'Unplugged' series is known for getting artists to strip down from their tough exteriors. Weezy did so by briefly touching on his 2010 incarceration for a 2007 gun possession charge. While he called his time behind bars "a dark place that I don't like to really shed light on," the '6 Foot 7 Foot' rapper did his best to touch on the subject with a cover of Tupac's 'Hail Mary' -- sample lyrics: "Penitentiaries is packed with promise makers/ Never realize the precious time the b---- n----s is wasting/ Institutionalized I lived my life a product made to crumble/ But too hardened for a smile, we're too crazy to be humble, we balling.

Guests during Wayne's acoustic set -- the first televised 'Unplugged' from a rap artist since Jay-Z's 2001 taping -- included Tity Boi, Young Money's Shanell and Cory Gunz.

After the taping, the Los Angeles Times caught up with Weezy, who told the publication that he will "open up more" about his time behind bars. "People are going to think I'm an alien if I don't say anything about it," he explained to the Pop & Hiss music blog. "You know this world we live in now you can find out anything about everybody."

As for his ninth studio album, 'Tha Carter IV,' Wayne said his listeners should expect "a pleasant surprise." "I'm only doing this for the fans. Which I do every ... thing for," he promised.

'Lil Wayne Unplugged' premieres June 12 on MTV2, MTV and MTV.com beginning at 9PM EST.
