Lil Wayne Might Have To Pay Producer $100K In Royalties

If you got money, and you know it — why show up to court?

A Manhattan Federal Court judge signaled Wednesday she would order Lil Wayne to pay the producer of one of his hit songs around $100,000 because he never responded to the lawsuit filed in October.

Ramon Owen, a hitmaker who works under the name REO, produced Lil Wayne’s song “Mirror,” which appeared on the hip-hop superstar’s album, “Tha Carter IV.”

The album sold over 2 million copies, meaning Owen is entitled to $91,841.50 in royalties, according to court filings. REO claimed in his case that he tried to contact Wayne about the cash for 11 months prior to filing his suit.

Interest, plus attorney fees, could put the judgment around $110,000, according to documents filed by Owen.

Judge Katherine Forrest’s official order was expected to be issued by Thursday.
