LeBron James Hilariously Reveals Bronny Can't Call Me ‘Dad’ On The Basketball Court

LeBron James has revealed what son Bronny James will have to call him on the basketball court. A teaser clip for a new episode of The Shop hit the internet on Tuesday (Aug. 27) live from Paris. The Nike-sponsored clip showed Bron talking about his relationship with Bronny and how it would potentially change on the court as teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron had a bit of fun with the question, but at the end of the day, he insisted that Bronny couldn’t call him “dad” while in a game and offered some alternatives for his son to use, with one of them being GOAT.“ No, he can’t [call me dad]. [Bronny] cannot call me ‘dad’ in the workplace,” James said. “Once we leave out the private facility and the gates close, I can be ‘dad’ again. In the car, if we ride together, at home, I could be ‘dad,’ but no, he gotta call me like, ‘2-3’ or ‘Bron.' We cannot be running down the court and he’d be like, ‘Dad, I’m open! Dad, come on!’ No you cannot do that,” LeBron concluded with a joke. Bronny previously addressed playing with his father in the NBA shortly before the 2024 NBA Draft. The Cleveland native admitted that he had thought about it, but it wasn’t what he was focused on. Instead, he was more concerned about making a name for himself and getting into the league. “I would be happy about getting to the league instead of me thinking about playing with my dad,” he told a reporter. “That’s not my mindset or not at all. I’m just trying to put in the work and see where it takes me from there.” The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James with the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, making LeBron and Bronny the first father-son duo to play in the league simultaneously.
