IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

Y'all ready for this?
With the option to opt out of his contract this year, LeBron James could be taking his talents to... the Looney Tunes.
A sequel to the 1996 Warner Bros. film Space Jam is reportedly in the works with James expected to be its star, according to a report from Deadline.

The report says broadcasting veteran Dick Ebersol's sons, Charlie and Willie, plan to work together to produce the movie and write the screenplay with Warner Bros. production executive Jon Berg. Charlie has done previous work with the NFL while Willie has won an Emmy for his work with the London Olympics.
Meanwhile, Brian Windhorst of ESPN says James' sources refute the Deadline report.
The original Space Jam grossed $230 million worldwide and also had other legendary players such as Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing and Charles Barkley along with Hollywood stars Danny DeVito and Bill Murray. If a sequel does happen it would likely have plenty of other NBA players as well.

It would not be the first time James would be front and center in the entertainment world. He previously hosted SNL in 2007 and co-hosted the ESPYs with Jimmy Kimmel the same year.
Should 'Space Jam 2' come to fruition it would be James' first feature film and he seems ready to embrace it. In August 2012, James tweeted how he would love to star in a sequel to Space Jam.

If the film indeed does happen, it will just be another thing to add in the Jordan vs. James comparisons. James just better hope he doesn't end up on Moron Mountain for an eternity.
