LAURYN HILL SAYS "TERRIFYING THREATS" KEPT HER FROM PAYING HER TAXES

As tax season comes to an end across the country, rapper/ singer Lauryn Hill is getting ready to file legal documents to prevent her conviction on three counts of tax evasion from getting sent to jail.
In June 2012, the former first lady of the Fugees was charged with failing to file several federal taxes from 2005 to 2007, owing $1.8 million in income, TMZ reports.
Now, the "Ex-Factor" singer is facing some serious charges, with each count carrying a maximum penalty of one year along with a $1,000 fine.
According to official docs, she avoided paying taxes during that time in order to protect threats allegedly made towards her family, withdrawing "from society at large due to what she perceived as manipulation and very real threats to herself and her family."
Hill, who was released on bail in June 2012, is also requesting the court to "take into consideration [that] it would be much easier to pay back taxes if she is placed on probation and continued to work."
The judge on Lauryn Hill's case is expected to rule on April 22.

Who she got threats from tho? Uncle Sam?
