IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

LALA TALKS ABOUT HER NEW REALITY SHOW ON VH1 CALLED LALA'S FULL COURT WEDDING!

As if planning a star-studded wedding wasn't stressful enough, former MTV VJ Lala Vasquez orchestrated her July nuptials to NBA player Carmelo Anthony while letting the VH1 cameras roll.
Her five-episode reality show, "Lala's Full Court Wedding" (premiering tonight), traces her trip down the aisle, including picking out invitations to her A-list bash at Cipriani 42nd St., where Ludacris, Spike Lee and the entire Kardashian clan were in attendance.

"It was by far the best party I've ever been to," says Vasquez, 31. "And viewers will see everything leading up to that night. They'll see what real brides go through."

Some of those things include losing 13 pounds with the help of celeb trainer Gunnar Peterson, having a Las Vegas bachelorette party thrown by famous friends Kim Kardashian and Kelly Rowland, and hiring A-list wedding planner Mindy Weiss.

A real bride, and a lucky one.

But Lala says that she needed the help of those big-name pals, and her mom, to make her wedding, er, a reality.

"I had no idea how hard it was to plan a wedding!" she says. "I was never that girl that dreamed about my big day, so I was oblivious to everything. My mom told me I needed something old, new, borrowed and blue, and I said, ‘Mom, no one does that anymore!'
But apparently everyone does."

One aspect Vasquez admits she did think about was the party after she and Anthony said "I do."

"My biggest concern was that my guests have a good time, and everyone had a blast. So that was very important to me" — second only to finally making it official with her boyfriend of nine years, whom she calls Melo, the father of her 2-year-old son, Kiyan.

"I married someone I know inside and out," says Vasquez. "It definitely feels good that it's official. We have a son, and it just felt like the right thing to do. I'm really happy about it."

As for their future, and the future of the show, Lala says there won't be a followup on their life as newlyweds.

"Because of Melo's schedule, that wouldn't work," she says. But her flick "Gun," in which she stars with Val Kilmer and 50 Cent, comes out this fall, and "there is some interest [from VH1] in doing something further with me, but I have to see what other projects come my way."

Her New York followers should be pleased to learn that Mrs. Anthony may be returning to her Big Apple roots. If Lala's b-baller hubby leaves the Denver Nuggets and is signed by the Knicks next year, she'll be moving to the East Coast.

"Us being in New York is a possibility," she says. "It depends on Melo's career and where it takes him. I think we just need to think about what makes sense for our family. But I would never say that being in New York is not an option. I'd be lying to you if I said that."

She adds, with a smile: "Melo will tell you, and all the players will tell you no matter where their loyalty is, there aren't many places like Madison Square Garden. They'll all say that, and it's nothing against their teams, but there is a different energy in there, and you really can't top that."
