IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

Lady Gaga suddenly canceled her performance at Indiana's Purdue University on Thursday after she collapsed the day of the show and was unable to shake her dizziness and difficulty breathing.
Friday she canceled three more upcoming performances, including one at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, after her doctor advised her to take a few days off.

The pop star posted on her Twitter page that on-site paramedics at Perdue warned the "Bad Romance" singer her heart rate was irregular as a result of exhaustion and dehydration.

The cancellation was announced after the two opening acts had already performed, sorely disappointing the sold-out crowd, according to E! Online.

Gaga was equally devastated by the last-minute change of plans.

"I've been crying for hours, I feel like I let my fans down 2nite," says a Thursday Tweet, continuing that she "can't apologize enough for how sorry I am. I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go onstage.

"I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat," she adds. "I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort."

Her handlers didn't want any possibility of her fainting or hurting herself during her elaborate act.

"My stage has complicated mechanical elements, everyone was concerned I'd be in danger during the 2hr show, since I had passed out earlier," she writes.

"I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me," she adds.

Concertgoers who missed the "Fame Monster" on Thursday can get refunds, or their tix will be honored at a special make-up show set for Jan. 26.

Lady Gaga's rep told E! Online that she's still appearing on Oprah on Friday. She's also up for five awards at the Grammys on Jan. 31.

Tickets for the scheduled Jan. 16 performance at the Borgata will be refunded.
