Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries celebrated their impending nuptials with a last-minute engagement party Thursday.
The couple, who became engaged in May, was feted by Kim's sister, Khloe, and nearly 50 friends and family members.
But why the rush?
"We obviously move really fast in my family. We're so crazy busy, and Kris was going back to Minnesota to be with his family," Khloe told Us Weekly.
"On Monday, we realized that Thursday was open," she explained, "so I was like, 'Am I really going to throw a party on Thursday?'"
But Khloe, 26, didn't take on the responsibility solo. She enlisted the help of Sharon Sachs, a party planner who organized Khloe's last-minute wedding to Lamar Odom in 2009.
"She did my wedding in nine days," Khloe told Us, "so I was like, 'You can put together an engagement party in three days.'"
The party was a success, Khloe said, even though some of the attendees had never met 26-year-old Humphries.
"Everybody had the best time and got along," she said. "It was so sweet to see everyone hang out with each other."
And Kim, 30, seemed to be quite pleased by the shindig, as well.
"Thank you so much @KourtneyKardash & @KhloeKardashian for throwing @KrisHumphries & I the most special party!" she tweeted after the bash. "I love u guys so much!!!"
But the party didn't stop for the Kardashian family, who flew to Las Vegas the following night to celebrate Khloe's birthday at Sugar Factory American Brasserie and Chateau Nightclub & Gardens.
