Rapper Kid Cudi, arrested in June on a charge of cocaine possession, was granted an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal on Friday. The court ordered him to serve two days of community service.
The charge against the 26-year-old hip-hop artist, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, will be dismissed if he completes the court-mandated work and stays out of trouble for six months, officials said.
"He's happy to be able to focus on his career," said his lawyer Stacey Richman.
The "Day 'n' Nite" rapper was busted in June after throwing a drunken tantrum ins a woman's Chelsea apartment, police said.
Officers then found a glassine envelope containing cocaine. The Cleveland native waived his appearance in Manhattan Criminal Court when his case was resolved Friday.
Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that Kid Cudi had pleaded guilty to the cocaine possession charge.
