Kendrick Lamar To Co-Produce ‘Black Panther’ Soundtrack

One of music's biggest names is co-producing the "Black Panther" soundtrack.

Kendrick Lamar will team up with Anthony Tiffith — the CEO of Top Dawg Entertainment — to create the musical accompaniment to the highly anticipated superhero movie starring Chadwick Boseman, Marvel announced Thursday.

"The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture," Lamar said in a press release. "I'm truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel's vision."

The rapper, 30, released his first single from the movie — a collaboration with fellow artist SZA called "All the Stars" — on Thursday.

Lamar will write, produce and perform songs on the soundtrack in what will be the first time he's ever done so for a major movie.

"I am honored to be working with such an incredible artist whose work has been so inspirational, and whose artistic themes align with those we explore in the film. I can't wait for the world to hear what Kendrick and TDE have in store," the film's director Ryan Coogler said.

The soundtrack is officially titled "Black Panther: The Album."

"Black Panther" centers on T'Challa (Boseman), the king of a fictional African country, Wakanda, who must defend his people from evil after he obtains super strength.

The film hits theaters on Feb. 16.
