Kelly Rowland's Dad Wants To Meet Her

He has not seen his daughter for decades.
But now Kelly Rowland's father has revealed he 'prays' the singer will come back into his life.

Christopher Lovett was separated from his future Destiny's Child when her mother Doris left him due to his explosive temper.
But now the recovering alcoholic is ageing he wants to have a relationship with her 'before it's too late.'

He told Star magazine: 'So many previous years have passed and I'm getting old.
'I just pray she comes back into my life before it's too late.'

Christopher had an alcohol problem when Kelly was young and wasn't able to control his temper, shouting at his wife in front of their child, but is hoping he can make amends for his past mistakes.

The 67-year-old said: 'I couldn't control it. I hoped I could make it up to her. But I'm still waiting for that day.'

He claims he has been trying to get in touch with the 32-year-old singer, who was catapulted to worldwide fame when she joined completed the line up of Beyoncé Knowles' girl group alongside Michelle Williams, for years now, but with no success.

He added: 'Whenever [Destiny's Child] was on the cover of a magazine, I would call and beg them to tell her I was looking for her.'

Christopher insists he just wants Kelly to know that he loves her with 'all my heart' and always has, despite their estrangement.

Kelly has previously spoken about being curious to meet her dad again and would be interested in seeing him.
Speaking in 2011, she said: 'I do have a desire to speak to him. But I have to be ready when I make that decision, and I don't want to hurry myself. I've been without him for more than 20 years.'
