Keith David was named among the group of esteemed talent that filled out the Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2026. On Wednesday (July 2), the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President Steven Nissen and Walk of Famers, actor Eugenio Derbez and radio personality Richard Blade, announced the honorees during a live press conference. The 69-year-old shared his real-time reaction to the exciting news in a clip uploaded to social media. Once his name is announced, the acclaimed actor’s jaw dropped as his wife, Dionne Lea Williams, cheered off camera. David continued to cover his mouth in disbelief as his wife’s celebration transformed into a happy cry. She then entered the frame for a celebratory hug and kiss, followed by the Greenleaf stars’ own tears the New York native managed to express his gratitude with a heartfelt message across social media. “What a surprise! Being blessed to get to do this for a living is enough for me; to be recognized for my contribution to the arts is the cherry on top,” wrote David on X, accompanied with the praying hand emoji. “Thank you, Hollywood Walk of Fame & Hollywood Chamber, for this honor.
