Katt Williams Charged With Assault For Punching A Pool Store Employee

Comedian Katt Williams punched a Georgia store employee during an argument and got arrested on a battery charge Monday morning, police said.

The latest arrest of Williams, 44, happened as he and jailed rap mogul Suge Knight await trial in the September 2014 robbery of a Los Angeles celebrity photographer’s camera.

Officers in Gainesville, about 55 miles northeast of Atlanta, found him “lying on the ground with his hands behind his back as though he was ready to go to jail” when they arrived to the pool supply store around 11:30 a.m., Gainesville police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said in an email.

A staff member at the Highway 53 store reported an assault after he said Williams threw a pair of goggles at him then went behind the counter and punched him at least once, Holbrook said. Williams was “on the ground in prone position outside the business,” when police arrived, Holbrook noted.

It wasn’t immediately clear what the store employee and Williams, who was with two women and two bodyguards at the time, were arguing about. A publicist listed on Williams’ website didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Monday afternoon.

Williams now faces a misdemeanor battery charge, and he was held on a $5,000 bond after getting booked into jail at 1:34 p.m.

Williams, whose real name is Micah Sierra Williams, has starred in specials like “Katt Williams: Kattpacalypse” in 2012 and appeared in comedies such as “Friday After Next” in 2002 and “First Sunday” in 2008.

He and Knight face felony robbery charges

after paparazzo Leslie Redden said Williams took her camera during an assault by two women under orders from Knight. Williams and Knight have pleaded not guilty.

Williams got arrested five times over two months in 2013 following a bizarre police chase. Police in Seattle and Oakland, Calif., said he got in bar fights in both cities in separate incidents weeks apart in 2012.

He recently threw shots at Kevin Hart, calling him a puppet ……..
