Kanye West To Receive Video Vanguard Award At 2015 MTV VMAs

Get ready to see Kanye West storm the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards — but this time as a winner.

MTV announced Tuesday that the rapper will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year's awards show.

The award is bestowed on artists who have produced memorable music videos throughout their career.

Past recipients include Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, the Beastie Boys and Beyoncé, who was awarded the prize last year.

Kim Kardashian’s husband has produced a number of noteworthy videos in his career, including “Jesus Walks,” “Bound 2” and “Run This Town” with Rihanna and Jay Z.

West has also starred in his fair share of memorable VMAs moments, ranging from his infamous interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech in 2009 to his stark performance of “Blood on the Leaves” at the 2013 awards show.

The 2015 Video Music Awards, hosted by Miley Cyrus, airs Sunday.
