Kanye West To Hold Virtual Easter Version Of His Sunday Service

Kanye West is joining forces with the pastor who officiated his wedding to Kim Kardashian for a virtual Easter Sunday service amid the coronavirus pandemic.

West has pre-recorded a performance with his “Sunday Service Choir” for the VOUS Church led by lead pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr.

Wilkerson Jr. officiated Kim and Kanye’s Italian wedding in 2014 and now the Miami-based minister will host live services on Facebook, YouTube and on the VOUS website throughout the day starting from 8 a.m. — with a Spanish translation available on YouTube at 11 a.m.

West’s Sunday Service has been a huge draw wherever it has appeared — from Coachella to James Corden’s carpool karaoke — attracting a swathe of celebrities around the country.

Wilkerson Jr. preached to a crowd gathered on a mountain outside Los Angeles for one of West’s services last July.

“If you’re new to Sunday Service, we just want to let you know we’re so glad you’re here,” Wilkerson said — atop a boulder — in the 11-minute video he posted on Instagram. “You are welcome to be here, but you should probably know that this is not a concert, this is not a performance, but rather an old-fashioned worship service of Jesus Christ.”

He later added: “This is the coolest church service I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot.”

West has also reportedly tapped to perform for Pastor Joel Osteen’s Lakewood megachurch, but has axed his appearance over social distancing concerns, TMZ reports.
