Kanye West hosted a Grammys after party on Sunday evening and previewed clips from his upcoming interview on Justin LaBoy’s Respectfully. In one clip, the duo discussed Trump and the Chicago producer explained what he was asked to do if he attended the inauguration: apologize for his anti-semitic remarks. “I was gonna go to the inauguration. Until [I was told] I had to write another apology saying yeah, that I wasn’t… what’s the word?” he stated. “It’s this censorship stigma.” The multi-time Grammy winner’s unwillingness to cooperate comes off a bit confusing considering the fact he has already apologized to the Jewish community. In 2023, he went on another anti-semitic rant but quickly admitted his wrongdoing. “I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions,” he wrote on Instagram in a now-deleted post. “It was not my intention to offend or demean, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused. Ye and Donald Trump’s relationship timeline has been interesting. From 2016 up until the last few years, both public figures were two peas in a pod. The father of four endorsed Trump’s candidacy for President in 2016 and even donned the red Make America Great Again hat for multiple years. Things between the two took a turn when the Vultures artist went on his anti-semitic rants in 2022 then decided he wanted to run for President and asked Trump to be his running mate.
