Kanye West released the official version of his “Black Skinhead” music video Monday on his website.
The Nick Knight-directed video is an interactive experience that allows viewers to take charge of how they watch it by adjusting the speed and sound. It also gives them the ability to capture portions of it through screen grabs.
The video “BLKKK SKKN” leaked earlier this month but was not the completed product, and West didn’t hide his dismay.
“Me and Nick Knight have been working on this video for 5 months and for creatives it’s heartbreaking when something like this happens,” he tweeted July 9 regarding the unfinished product. “The final version will be ready within the next week. And to who ever leaked the video … F—YOU!”
Now fans can catch the version West intended for them to see, which includes an animated avatar of the rapper.
“Allow me and Nick to give the world what we’ve been losing sleep over,” he wrote.
West gave the world something else to talk about when he got into a scuffle with a photographer Friday.
The 36-year-old Chicago native reportedly confronted paparazzi at Los Angeles International Airport and got into a physical confrontation with one who then fell to the ground.
The photog, who goes by the name of Dano, was taken to a hospital, and the incident is currently under investigation.
According to reports, police are labeling it a felony attempted robbery because West allegedly tried to take the paparazzo’s video camera as he was leaving the airport.
This isn’t the first time Dano has come under attack by a celeb. He was said to be the same photographer that allegedly provoked Britney Spears to attack his SUV with an umbrella in 2007.
