Kanye West Claims Self-Defense In Paparazzi Assault Lawsuit

Kanye West is not going down without a fight.
The 36-year-old rapper has responded to the lawsuit filed against him by paparazzo Daniel Ramos, who claims West assaulted him at LAX this past summer, TMZ reported.

West reportedly filed papers to say he acted in self-defense when he allegedly pushed the photog during their unpleasant airport altercation.

The documents states that Ramos "willfully and wrongfully caused (West) to reasonably believe his safety was in danger."

West has claimed he did what was "necessary for his self-defense and safety and was justified in doing those acts."

The "Black Skinhead" singer reportedly tried to steal the pap's camera as Ramos was attempting to snap photos of the self-proclaimed “number one rock star on the planet.”

"He didn't hurt the pap," a source told Us Weekly at the time.

“They were just heckling him as usual. Kanye went to grab the camera and the guy fell being so dramatic."

West was formally charged earlier this month for criminal battery and attempted grand theft.

TMZ reported that if Kim Kardashian's beau was found guilty, he could face a maximum of one year in prison.

An arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 10.
