Jury Selection Starts In Ashanti's Stalker Trial

A wacko Ashanti stalker blabbed to prospective jurors Thursday about his ill-advised choice to represent himself.

“It’s not because I wanted to go pro se (without a lawyer). I had three attorneys. I fired them all,” Devar Hurd said, launching into an off-topic speech during jury selection.

“I hired one man. He did me dirty,” the obsessed jailbird said.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Daniel Conviser had to interrupt the babbling, which began when Hurd got the chance to vet jurors for potential biases.

Instead, the delusional weirdo jumped at the chance to try to argue that prosecutors are trying to railroad him.

Hurd bizarrely admitted to the jury that he did break the restraining orders but began to make the case that the other charges are exaggerated.

“That is the charge that I’m quote unquote guilty of — they trumped up the stalking charge!”

After being ordered once again to stay on point, Hurd briefly apologized.

“My bad, alright. I’m trying,” he said.

His antics inspired one male juror — who was not selected — to stand up and say he wanted out.

“Your honor, I cannot listen to this. I couldn’t treat this guy fairly, representing himself. There’s no way,” the excused juror said.

Among the other outlandish moments in Hurd's first foray into the legal profession was an unfortunate mistake over one juror's name.

"I don't think I have your name down. I have P-O-O," he said to the person whose last name is Poor.

Hurd is accused of sending over 100 tweets to Ashanti's official account "including numerous explicit messages" between September 2012 and July 2013 after spending two years behind bars for the creepy campaign against the R&B star and her family.

He also allegedly went to see Ashanti's sister Kenashia in person on Oct. 19, 2012.

Opening statements are slated to begin Monday with testimony from Ashanti and other witnesses to follow.
