Judge Joe Brown Released From Jail After Flipping Out In Court

Judge Joe Brown has been sentenced to a taste of his own medicine.

The former TV host has been jailed in contempt of court after going at it with a Memphis judge in a spat captured in an audio recording.

The 66-year-old former TV host is angrily heard lecturing and threatening to report a Shelby County judge during a child-support hearing as if the courtroom were his own. The incident appeared to be over his right to due process.

"Excuse me ... you need to straighten yourself out," Brown's heard telling Juvenile Court Magistrate Harold "Hal" Horne in audio obtained by Commercial Appeal and TMZ.
"Now if you want to get into this, let's get into this. This sorry operation needs to stop," he says.

The larger-than-life personality who's running for Shelby County District Attorney was described as totally losing it after first entering the room shaking hands amid smiles.

"He all but had that courtroom in a riot,'' Juvenile Court Chief Magistrate Dan Michael told the Memphis paper of Brown's absurd behavior.

Brown's campaign team reacted to his arrest by swapping out his Facebook photo with one of Martin Luther King Jr. being arrested as well.

"Judge Joe Brown, jailed in Memphis!" the photo's caption reads. "This is not any different than when Martin Luther King was jailed repeatedly, while fighting for our rights. The only difference is that he will not be a Martyr."

Some of Brown's fans appeared to agree.

A "Free Judge Joe Brown" Facebook page displaying a photo of him screaming with his finger raised in the air expressed its disbelief of the crimes against him.

"Judge Joe Brown was sentenced to five days in jail in Tennessee for having a meltdown in the courtroom. Courtroom meltdowns are his specialty, though," it read with a sad face.
