Jonathan Majors Gives First Interview After Being Found Guilty Of Assault

Jonathan Majors granted his first interview since a Manhattan jury found him guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari ABC News Anchor Linsey Davis conducted the interview, set to air on Disney-owned ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday, January 11. Clips from the interview will be featured on “GMA3” on Monday, January 8, with an exclusive half-hour special airing on “Impact x Nightline” on Hulu. The 34-year-old actor was arrested and charged with assaulting Jabbari on March 25, leading to a trial that began in December. Despite denials and counter-accusations, Majors was convicted on December 18 on a single charge of assault and harassment. His sentencing is scheduled for February 6, with a maximum potential jail term of one year. Following the conviction, Disney/Marvel Studios severed ties with Majors, dropping him from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The studio is reportedly considering openly gay actor Colman Domingo as Majors’ replacement. Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, expressed gratitude for the not guilty verdicts on two additional charges. “It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that,” Chaudhry stated. However, she expressed disappointment that, despite discrediting Jabbari’s account, the jury found Majors somehow reckless during the altercation.
